The ‘Free Time Watch’: Not Free, Just Slightly Geeky

Since we all know that time is money, I have no idea why this watch from Thinkgeek is called the Free Time Watch. What the hell is free about time? And that £45 price tag isn’t exactly screaming ‘Free’ either. As watches go, the Free Time Watch is at least a little different with separate rotating rings indicating hours, minutes and seconds. The little white marks are meant to represent something like our planets orbiting the sun at different rotational speeds. According to the company:So, like the planets tracing their various orbits around the Sun, the rings on this watch each move with different rotational speeds to indicate the time. The three concentric circles rotate clockwise with each gap in the circle communicating the precise time. The hour, minute and seconds are defined by the outer, middle and inner rings respectively. I guess it’s not the worst looking watch but with the James Bond phone watch doing the rounds and now, the uber-geeky Deus Ex Machine watch, there are more hi-tech timing gadgets to waste your hard earned cash on.-Martin Lynch [Thinkgeek] news technology gadgets watch
