Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 Coming Sept 30th
A long time ago at a show far, far away, Sony Ericsson previewed an interesting arc-sliding phone called the Xperia X1. This phone was meant to be the company’s White Knight in its scrap with the Nokia N96 and the hugely successful iPhone. However, it’s only now that the company has managed to throw their challenger into the arena, with the Xperia X1 scheduled to launch here on September 30. The touchscreen smartphone is the company’s first to run Windows Mobile [is that good or bad?] and with its hidden full-size QWERTY keyboard, Sony will be hoping to snap up those trendy business types. It sports a 3in display with an impressive 800 x 480 resolution and there are 9 customisable icons on the interface to allow for easy access to the main features. It’s a HSDPA phone with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, FM radio, 3.2MP camera [could do better] and microSD card slot. Of course, the downside is that the big keyboard bulks this baby up to 145g which may require a little more exercise on your part before it arrives.-Martin Lynch phone mobile phone sony ericsson
