More Details, Pics Released For GTA On The DS

We’d imagine a great many people are hotly anticipating the upcoming Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS. It’s scheduled for release this winter and we’ve dug out some more information on gameplay and graphics for those who want a taste of things to come. The game will use an isometric environment rather than the 3D cities we’ve grown used to on the consoles and the graphics will be cell-shaded for that cartoon feel. Other titbits include free aiming via the D-pad with autotarget on the shoulder buttons, familiar weapons like the flamethrower and chaingun and a series of minigames that may or may not be vital to the final objective. You’ll also be able to pick up wanted ratings as usual but instead of evading cops for a while must allegedly ‘disable police cars’ in order to knock this down. It all sounds like the game will make good use of the DS’ touchscreen and we’d be very surprised if it turns out to be a letdown after the consistently excellent progression of the series so far. Nintendo Everything has released a bunch of new screenshots which you can view via the link below, along with the official site so you can keep an eye on new developments. - Paul Lester [Nintendo Everything] [RockStarGames] GTA Nintendo DS gaming
