Artist Pascale Judet creates a captivating metaphor about time in the form of a desk clock and tiny sculpture. Dream-like and surreal, the scene depicts a lone man sitting on a rock afloat on the vast sea. Reminiscent of a diorama, Judet’s work is inspired by her contact with nature, weather and light. She paints the background first, then searches through a collection of figures from model railroad sets to find the perfect match for the scene. Through rich, cool colors and keen attention to detail, the artist subtly captures the idea of man’s small place in the eternal ocean of time and offers new insight when watching the clock.
