LG Announces Wiiiiiide-Screen
LG is gaining an impressive reputation in the home cinema market following a range of successful releases in the surround sound and display fields.
Its latest announcement is targeted more at businesses though, with two stretched display monitors in the M3800S-BN 38” screen and M2900S-BN 29” model.
They’re primarily aimed at providing information at places like shopping centres, cinemas and commuter locations, and can display either horizontally or vertically.
Resolutions of 1366×480 and 1366×398 respectively, along with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 9ms response time indicates that for more basic uses the LCDs should be perfectly adequate, though home users into crazy purchases probably won’t find them good enough to handle the latest games or high definition content particularly well.
LG isn’t forthcoming over pricing, though the screens will apparently be available any day now. – Paul Lester
