iPhone 3G Queues Start 1 Week Early [Madness]
I could understand the original queues for the iPhone last year when it was something different, stock availability was unclear and Apple’s core loonies started camping out days in advance. But this time, the queue has started a week early in New York for something that’s no longer new and will have no stock problems - except maybe here. It might be the perfect excuse to have another cheap shot at overzealous Apple fans but apparently this early group as an ulterior motive. The group of 10, complete with baby, are actually TheWhoFarm who, according to Fortune, are “a newly minted publicity-seeking environmental collective with an agrico-political mission: to persuade the 44th President of the US — whoever that turns out to be — to transform the White House’s 17-acre lawn into an organic farm.” Riiiiiiight. “We’re here to restore the edible landscape,” said Daniel Bowman Simon, 28, the group’s organizer and spokesperson and a young man given to making grand pronouncements. “We want to bring seeds of change back to the White House.” Right, so it’s not a bunch of Apple loonies this time, but a bunch of fringe eco-loonies.
