Digg for Sale - Google and Microsoft up for a fight

Friday, March 7th, 2008

OK, this is the hottest news this week. Is DIGG really up for sale ? Digg was founded in late 2004 and has raised $11.3 million in funding. Kevin Rose is one lucky dude and I recently read about his Diggnation tour in UK. Digg also earned $250,000 per month in Google Adsense revenue back in 2006 and I am sure it’s increased.

If its true, then good for them. I bet they will be sold for USD $ 208 million, considering its 2008, ha! What do you think ?

Digg is prepared to take less than the $300 million Allen & Co. were floating late last year. Google, our source says, will likely bid $200-$225 million, which Digg would likely accept.

Microsoft is looking at a somewhat lower price. That makes sense, since most of Digg’s revenue today comes from a three year advertising deal that Digg signed with Microsoft last year. That deal has revenue guarantees - and Microsoft may be hesitant to value Digg based on revenue that they supply.

Newman’s Valentine’s Day DAP is so very appropriate

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Filed under:

Isn’t that cute? It’s like two music players, but they make a heart! Oh, and look, there’s a crack down the middle, it kind of looks just like two people kissing. Maybe you can stick the Juno soundtrack on there and give half this Newman DAP to that special someone. It’s like giving a piece of your heart, only with plastic and silicon. What’s that? She doesn’t appreciate your finely honed taste in indie music? Well that’s no problem, just glue the two players back together and look at what you’ve got: a broken heart. Yeah, we can tell that this February 14th will be one to remember.

Pizza Hut has joined rivals Domino’s and Papa John’s in implementing a nationwide order-by-text service, giving customers even easier access to its tasty-but-greasy fare. To take advantage of the “Total Mobile Access” feature, you have to visit the Pizza Hut website for a one-time registration of your mobile number, along with setting up your so-called “pizza playlist” to enable easier ordering. You can also satisfy your pizza jones by hitting up the same site on a mobile browser, which provides an optimized version of the desktop ordering system that has been in place for several years.

Phiaton brings the visual delight to audio gear

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Phiaton — not to be confused with Volkswagen’s futile attempt to break into the luxury sedan market — is setting out to grab dollars from audio geeks that have a thing for style. The firm is actually part of Cresyn, and is attempting to put its name on the map by introducing four new exotic looking headphones, a pair of oddly-designed earbuds and a vivid music docking station. Regrettably, there are no prices to share on any of the aforementioned gear, but if you’ve ever secretly craved cans wrapped in faux alligator skin, this company is sure to impress.
