Aside from “Would you pay $130 for a wired keyboard with an iPod dock built-in?”, the other question we have for the Razer Pro|Type Keyboard is “Why does it only come in white?”

Razer’s probably assuming that future owners will probably hook this baby up to their iMac. But where does that leave the Mac Pro owners, not to mention those who use non-white iPods and computers—like a PC?

Nice ATI! You’ll probably steal some thunder from NVIDIA when you release the Radeon HD 4550 and 4350 this October. Both video cards will feature support for DirectX 10.1, compatiblity with HDMI displays like the HP w2228h, and even 7.1 audio!

The 4550 will be $16 more expensive than the 4350 thanks to its 512MB of DDR3 RAM, compared to half that for the latter. Both cards run at 96 gigaflops, for those who are interested. (boingboing.net)

Don’t look now, but HP just got official with two new digital photo frames that could barely be any further apart in terms of size. On the small side, we’ve got the 3.5-inch df300a1, which rocks a 320 x 240 resolution display (with a 400:1 contrast ratio) and has room for up to 45 pictures on the internal memory. If that’s not enough, users can load up additional images by way of an SD / SDHC / MMC slot, and while the AC / USB power options are dandy, the 2-hour battery life on the rechargeable cell within is super-fine. Sitting tight on the other extreme is the 10.4-inch df1000, with 512MB of inbuilt storage (and its own USB port), a 800 x 600 resolution panel, two interchangeable frame mats, dual stereo speakers and support for video playback. You’ll be looking at $59 for the little guy, $219 for the big one.

Look Sony, we were there in person to confirm that your digiframe building skills are world-class. Did you really need to phone up your lagging half (give or take a few dozen percent) for its help here? Whatever the case, the Q4-bound Sony Ericsson IDP-100 frame isn’t too different from its fiercest rivals; we’ve got a 7-inch WVGA screen, built-in Bluetooth, a M2 Memory Stick slot (with support for SD, microSD and MS Duo), USB port, enough internal storage for 500 snaps, an active touch control on the frame itself and a world clock for good measure. Somehow, Sony SE spins the omission of a remote as a good thing, but if it was smart, it would enable cellphone control and have a real winner on its hands. Just sayin’, is all.

Feel that heat, Touch Pro? That’s right — the Great QWERTY Smartphone War of 2008 is officially gearing up for kickoff now that Sony Ericsson has announced a firm date for the first handful of lucky countries to be scoop up the mighty XPERIA X1. Sweden, Germany, and the UK will be the inaugural launch sites come September 30, with no fewer than 32 more on tap in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America for the fourth quarter of the year. North America, China, Australia, and Russia are also listed as committed launch regions, though dates for those will be announced “in the coming months” — scary verbiage considering that they weren’t even willing to slap the Q4 label there. 2009’s a long way off yet, and if there’s a Touch Pro in front of us… well, let’s just say that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, if you catch our drift.

The FCC didn’t give us much to go on here besides these wireframe images and a few radiation reports. From that we can tell you that Sony’s about to release its new DSC-G3 Cyber-shot boasting 802.11b/g WiFi. As a followup to the WiFi-packing DSC-G1 announced more than a year ago, we’re expecting the 3.5-inch LCD (now probably touchscreen like the T700) to carryover with storage twisted above 2GB and a sensor bump into the 10.1 megapixel range like Sony’s new T500. Just a guess though, we hope to hear more at the Photokina show later this month.

Fujitsu’s looking to keep its typically small and light P-series alive by dumping the wee P1630 into the FCC’s oh-so-capable hands. Based on the filed documentation, the unit will possess a 8.9-inch 1,280 x 768 resolution display, a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, Intel’s GMA X4500 graphics set, up to 2GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader, WiFi / Bluetooth, Ethernet and a smattering of ports including SD, VGA out, USB (x2) and PCMCIA. The 2.2-pound lappie doesn’t have any sort of official price or release date, but eager LifeBook fanatics can rest assured that it’s closer to commercial release today than it was yesterday. Er, before it hit the FCC. Never mind.

Then remember how ASUS created so many annoying variations that it became almost impossible to pay attention? Well, pay attention — the Eee PC 900HD has hit the FCC. Excited? Yeah, we thought so. Of course, this reveals nothing about the actual hardware save for the fact that this bottom casing is different from previous models, so… that’s one thing.

Attempts to keep the most hotly anticipated consumer electronics devices under wraps these days are getting more and more futile. It’s hard enough for companies to control disgruntled employees and leaks in the international supply chain, stir in a giant government organization and things quickly unravel. Case in point: what is widely believed to be the world’s first Android handset, T-Mobile’s HTC Dream. After Engadget loosed the Dream from its FCC constraints on the 18th of August, HTC contacted the agency on the 19th with a request to use a less detailed diagram for the FCC label placement. Fortunately for us they complied, giving us what can only be construed as official measurements in the process. The newly unveiled 115 x 55-mm dimensions tells us that it beats the iPhone 3G in terms of length and width but is almost certainly thicker than the iPhone due to the Dream’s sliding QWERTY. However, it’s still longer and wider than both the Xperia X1 and HTC’s own Touch Pro QWERTY handsets.

Here’s how the smartphones compare:

• HTC Dream: 115 x 55-mm
• iPhone 3G: 115.2-mm x 62.1-mm
• Xperia X1: 110.5 x 52.6-mm
• HTC Touch Pro: 102 x 51-mm

We’ve seen the boys and girls in blue disturb the peace on occasion, but this is just downright bizarre. It’s bruited that the city of Plano, Texas has complained to the FCC about a powerful new police communications system that’s being testing in Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Duncanville. The signals have the ability to reach some 30 miles away, and they’re driving the radio-controlled sprinklers that Plano uses at parks and road medians absolutely crazy. The whole ordeal has made for some pretty interesting conversation amongst those involved, with one Tim Smith, managing director of the Southwest Regional Communications Center, asserting: “Which comes first: watering plants or protecting police and fire?” If anyone catches grown men fighting about this, do us a favor and send in the video.

Just over a year ago, we were all making bitter beer faces at FCC chairman Kevin Martin for not going along with a delightful sounding “free internet” plan. Now, it seems the main man’s tune has changed. During a recent interview, Martin stated that there was a “social obligation in making sure everybody could participate in the next generation of broadband services because, increasingly, that’s what people want.” He’s reportedly looking to attach a free mobile broadband requirement to the AWS-3 spectrum that’s set to be auctioned next year, which would require the winner to allocate 25% for gratis access. ‘Course, we wouldn’t get our hopes us for this to actually go down like it surely is playing out in your mind just now, but we won’t fault you for dreamin’.

Hmm, Hov, you may want to check the fine print on whatever deal you’ve got with Moto, because these Jay-Z-branded MOTOROKR S7-HD Bluetooth headset aren’t exactly big pimpin’ — and compared to Dre’s big ol’ cans, they look downright sad. Of course, the FCC’s legendarily nasty product photography isnt helping here, but even A2DP stereo support and the integrated mic can’t salvage this mess — was this really worth unretiring for?
